Some students may prefer to be addressed by a name other than their legal forename, for example John Paul Howarth might choose to be called Paul Howarth.

It is sometimes the case that, if a student has an unusual first name, he/she may wish to use a suitable &lt;a href="http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nickname" rel="nofollow"&gt;nickname&lt;/a&gt; as an alternative.

Taking into consideration the above examples, some students may be embarrassed if the class register is called using legal names as opposed to chosen names.</description>
