As part of their major shift towards cloud services, and perhaps in direct response to Google Docs, Microsoft have announced at PDC 2008 plans to “deliver Office Web applications – lightweight versions of Office – through web browsers”.
This will give users web versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote powered through Microsoft’’s Office Live service, with both ad-based and subscription offerings.
To learn more, please click here for the official announcement.
Thanks, once again, to Microsoft’s Steve Clayton for the information.

As Secondary Technical Forum regulars know, here at Schools ICT we”ve been using Microsoft OneNote 2007 for some time. We find it an invaluable tool for sharing meeting notes, not only with attendees but anyone else in the Unit who wishes to know what we”ve been discussing.
I spotted the following video clip on the Microsoft UK Schools News Blog and thought I”d share it with you. It demonstrates how OneNote 2007 is used in a Norwegian primary school. Notice how relaxed both the students and teacher are with the technology.
